This piece is the outcome of a one-month Artist-in-Residency program which aimed at bringing new life to a true GDR relic of a former car repair shop in an industrial complex, which is scheduled to by demolished in 2013.
A love song to the laws of thermodynamics, as well as to a creation breathing its last breaths, referencing the rapid changing the city is undergoing. Signifying a fatal injury, an approach to a halt in the system’s function, the space is animated through its last days among the living, touching not only on the notion of the space as a vessel very similar to our own bodies, and it being merely a phase in the metamorphosis of matter, but also on its existential frailty and on the fact that all things must come to an end.
